Is animal testing really necessary?
Millions of mice, rats, rabbits, primates, cats, dogs, and other animals are caged in laboratories around the globe. They are in excruciating pain, extremely frustrated, lonely, and yearning to be free. Instead, all they can do is wait in agony until the next set of terrifying procedures is tested on them. Due to the lack of fresh air and environmental improvement, many animals develop certain neurotic behavior. These animals are purposely poisoned or affected with diseases, kept in barren cages, and are usually killed when their study is through. All in the name of research. Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year. Animal testing can be replaced with a variety of non-animal test methods. These non-animal tests are not only more humane, but they also have the potential to be less expensive, faster, and more relevant to humans.
